SECU board member McKinley Wooten Jr.

McKinley Wooten Jr. has been a member of SECU since 1994 and has served on the SECU Board of Directors since 2000 and the SECU Foundation Board of Directors since its inception in 2004. He is past Chair of both Boards. Wooten is the assistant secretary of the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

He has served in several senior level positions in state government, including inspector general, deputy secretary of the Department of Administration as well as director and deputy director of the Administrative Office of the Courts. Wooten also serves on the advisory board for the Alexander YMCA in Raleigh, the North Carolina Museum of History Foundation Board, and the University of North Carolina School of Government Foundation Board.

A native of Kinston, Wooten holds degrees from Morehouse College and Vanderbilt University School of Law.
