We Are SECU: On The Road, with members from across North Carolina

It’s been a busy two months at SECU, as our new CEO Leigh Brady, members of the Board of Directors, and organization executives packed up and hit the road, visiting our Advisory Board members in six cities across the state. They embarked on a “We Are SECU: On The Road” tour, in which the sole goal is simply coming together.

At SECU, we’re dedicated to listening to our members and keeping you informed about what’s ahead. During this tour, we dedicated time to both. Advisory Board members as well as local branch management joined us in each city for an evening of discussion, led by our emcee (and our Associate Executive VP of Engagement) Mia Perez.

After an exciting conversation with Leigh Brady about her priorities as CEO, our Board of Directors and executive committee took to the stage, reviewing the performance of our Credit Union over the past year and updating us on new products and services. They previewed both short and long-term innovations in SECU’s digital services and offerings and showed us how SECU is investing in its team members, today and every day. And the floor was open as members in the audience asked questions of our CEO and executives. Each event was rounded out with an opportunity to share food and connect.

On the first week of the tour, the team met with members in Greensboro and Raleigh, in the heart of our state, where former Board of Directors Chair Chris Ayers kicked off the event. During the Q&A at the end of these meetings, we fielded some great questions about tier-based pricing, FICO® credit scores, and the impact of current legislation.

Then we drove toward the beach, spending our second week in Wilmington and Greenville, meeting with members from across coastal North Carolina. Out east, former Vice-Chair of the Board Alice Garland invited Leigh Brady to weigh in on her plans as the new CEO of SECU.

For our final two events in mid-August, we drove westward to Charlotte and Asheville, reuniting our team to highlight the State of the Credit Union to local Advisory Board members. We discussed the launch of a new auto loan discount specifically for our NC state employee and retiree members, longer-term financial investment services, and the field of SECU membership.

These events revealed what we know to be true: SECU is a valued community partner dedicated to meeting our members where they are, with the products and services they need. It’s important for us to meet with folks from all over, to listen and learn from our membership, and to inform our members and employees about the future of the Credit Union.

Stay tuned for a recap from the road!
